Sweet Daffodil

Sweet Daffodil
They’ve given you a name
Sweet, Daffodil, no longer free.
Now plucked, put into a vase.
Others wait in the bed for fate.
Beauty, like sin, taken nightly,
Only the good die young
In Plato’s dancing shadows
Under the mad moon.

--Master Keiko, the cat
